HOW DERMAPLANING HELPS YOUR SKIN

Hello to all my Ageless Medical Spa and Hair Restoration clients or clients to be. Today I want to highlight the skin procedure called dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that involves gently scraping the surface of your skin with a surgical scalpel. Even though it sounds like just another fad treatment, dermaplaning is actually one of the most effective dermatologist-backed solutions for dealing with dull, bland, fuzzy skin. Dermaplaning gets rid of dead skin cells that can clog pores and create breakouts, making this procedure ideal for most skin types. Especially due to the fact that it gets rid of facial hair, it makes your face feel baby butt soft, and creates a smooth canvas for foundation. Dermaplaning requires no chemicals and no down time. It is Safe for Pregnant woman and anyone else who isn’t allergic to steel, (that should cover most of us). It is a great addition for people that exfoliate regularly as well, taking your skin up to a higher level of glow. After dermaplaning, your skin will seem smoother, brighter, and will absorb skin care products much easier without that top layer of dead dry skin cells as a barrier. Not to mention ZERO peach fuzz that creates that hairy aura in the sunlight.

“Why not just take the ol’ Bic Razor and do it myself?’ You may ask. Well the difference is that a surgical scalpel and a trained professional can safely remove the dead skin cells much more thoroughly and create a much deeper exfoliation than anything available over the counter. Not to mention avoiding the risk of accidentally nicking yourself, then needing to explain to your friends how you cut your face shaving!

Dermaplaning is safe for most skin types, especially those with sun damage, fine lines, dry patches, and dull skin. But of course, there are caveats: If you have highly reactive, extremely sensitive skin (like those with rosacea or keratosis pilaris), you may want to consider a different facial procedure, as this might irritate your skin. This is especially true for anyone with inflamed acne. Sliding a sharp scalpel over your pimples can irritate them and make existing breakouts worse by spreading bacteria. If these are issues you may be dealing with then it's necessary to talk with me first so we can come up with a best laid plan and the greatest outcome for your skin.

I’m looking forward to giving you all the smooth bright skin you deserve, given summer is right around the corner, this procedure is safe to do if you are a beach bunny so long as you protect yourself with sunscreen.
