PRP for Dermal Repair
Platelet Rich plasma can be used to help restore a youthful appearance to any area of skin showing signs of aging or damage. The most commonly requested areas include the face, neck, chest, and hands.
The Process
This is achieved by drawing the patient’s blood and processing it in a way that allows the provider to isolate the PRP or platelet rich plasma. The platelets are activated to release potent growth factors that would normally be used to heal injured tissue. These growth factors are injected into the area of concern, which activates multi-potent stem cells to grow new tissue including new collagen, fatty tissue (for smoothness), and new blood vessels (for a healthy glow)
Please see About PRP for more information on PRP.
When volume loss is a major concern, PRP in the face can also be paired with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, for enhanced results. This is known as a PRP facelift.
