Benefits of Botoxfor Teeth Grinding and TMJ

  • Non-surgical: Botox injections are non-surgical, meaning they do not require incisions or anesthesia.
  • Safe: Botox injections are considered safe when administered by a qualified licensed healthcare provider.
  • Effective: Botox injections can significantly relieve TMJ symptoms, including pain and stiffness, and improve your quality of life.
  • Botox works by relaxing the muscles in the jaw that are contributing towards TMJ and teeth grinding at night
  • Quick: Botox injections are quick and can be performed in a matter of minutes.
  • Botox has been shown to help some patients get a better nights sleep
  • The results of Botox injections for TMJ can last up to six months. After this time, the effects will start to wear off, and you may need to get another injection to maintain relief from your symptoms.
  • TMJ botox is typically done by injecting the masseter muscle at the corner of your jaw. This muscle can typically be felt by the patient and practitioner when the patient clenches their jaw the masseter muscle “bulges” off the face. This can lead to a more masculine jawline and wider face as this muscle is enlarged. In most cases patients notice a slimmer face and jaw 6 months after treatment

Testimonials

“I’ve noticed a huge reduction in the intensity of pain”

five stars

“I heard that Botox injections were an option to alleviate some of my TMJ symptoms, which included jaw clicking, clenching, teeth grinding, and pain. Overall, this was a huge relief for my TMJ symptoms. I’ve noticed a huge reduction in the intensity of pain, as well as a reduction in the size of my masseter muscles (which used to make my lower face look bulky)” — Nicole P.

“I really noticed an improvement in my TMJ“

five stars

“I had TMJ and jaw pain for 1.5 years from clenching my jaw at night. Did cold and hot compresses, stretching, massaging but these things only helped a little bit. The pain and tightness just wouldn't go away. I finally gave up and decided to try Botox injections. It took about 2 months before I really noticed an improvement in my TMJ but it has now been over 1 year since my injections and my TMJ is still SO much better. Botox may not work for everyone but I think it's worth a try before trying anything more invasive!”— Jen W.

“My TMJ has never felt this good!”

five stars

“I have been dealing with TMJ for years and it’s ridiculous how easily I was always dismissed by my doctors. When I went to my first “specialist” he basically just told me to “eat soft foods and try not to yawn so wide.” Like thanks “doc,” here’s $350. No recommendations, no follow up. I decided to see Megan after a friend recommended her and I cannot say enough good things! I am now 6 months out from my injections and my TMJ has never felt this good!”— Kelly K.

“Slimming of the face was a bonus”

five stars

“I was constantly clenching my jaw due to my anxiety, and it was giving me headaches. Slimming of the face was a bonus. It took about six weeks for me to see a change—which I saw when comparing an older photo of myself with a recent one. I plan to keep maintaining it, but the effects do wear off after three months. That’s around when I start to feel my jaw clenching again.”— Minal M.

“100% worth it!”

five stars

“My dentist recommended that I look into Botox injections for my TMJ after I chipped yet another tooth at night because of my teeth grinding. I always wore a nightguard but was still clenching so hard I was cracking my teeth. I now get injections done every 6 months and have not had a single broken tooth since! 100% worth it!”— Ella C.
