I had trichotillomania and did not even know that it had a name. I would pull my eyelashes out trying to remove makeup while watching TV but I didn't stop until I was satisfied with the popping sensation that I would get with the pull. After many years of doing this, I realized that I was ruining my eyelashes. I noticed that a lot of them weren't coming back and I had big empty spaces in my eyelashes. I decided to start wearing fake eyelashes to keep me from pulling and I found relief that way. To this day I still wear eyelash extensions, because I know that I won’t pull. This is just one of the many ways that women experience hair loss. Trich can cause you to pull hair anywhere on your body. Its similar to nail biting or skin picking. Hair pulling and skin picking are called BFRB ( Body -Focused Repetitive Behaviors). There are various triggers and they vary for each individual. The more I learned about hair loss the more I was determined to offer real solutions with honest consultations to provide only the best service for the customer on this hair loss journey. I understand that it can be scary or uncomfortable, I am here to help you.
I grew up in a salon following my mom around watching her work. I've always enjoyed people and learning about others. It was only natural that I followed in my mothers footsteps and made hair my profession. I have worn many different hats in the industry, I’ve owned my own salon, I’ve been a rep for several manufacturers, taught hair cutting on stage at trade shows for years, and even worked with salon owners one on one to help them turn a profit. (80% of hair salons are in the red) But my true calling, the thing that brings me the most joy, the thing I was meant to do professionally is helping people with hairloss. The need is really great and no one was doing it the right way, the way I think it should be done. No one is properly educating their clients about all the different options and things they can do to get the best possible outcomes. I like to educate clients and teach them about all the potential solutions so they can make the best choice for them and their family.
