Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a substance taken from your blood and then enriched. PRP has shown the ability to restore and repair many types of human tissue, including skin. Platelets are a type of blood cells that stimulate cell repair and reproduction. Plasma is the liquid portion of your blood. Platelet rich plasma, then, is blood that is boosted to contain an increased and enhanced number of platelets.
